Happy Thanksgiving

Family, Friends and Mt Hermon,

I want to take a moment and of course wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.  Today is a day to be thankful for the blessings that God has allowed into our lives.  I know we still have needs (I know I do) but that is not reason enough to not be thankful today.

Here are a few verses of scripture to meditate on today:
* Psalm 31:9
* Psalm 95:1-6
* Psalm 100
* Psalm 107:1
* Psalm 145:7
* 1st Chronicles 29:11-13

Happy Thanksgiving, God Bless you & Love you!

You Cannot Be a Loving Person and Not Care About the Unreached

You Cannot Be a Loving Person and Not Care About the Unreached.

God speaks through this man.  Please listen to him.

HE WINS EITHER WAY

There seems to be so much competition throughout church’s today and even in individual church’s. “My small group does more stuff.”, “My Sunday Class reads more scripture.”, “My church had way more than that in attendance.” The problem here is that we quickly forget that no one wins when we play the comparison game.

When we play the comparison game with anything, we lose either way. Either we compare and think we are better which leads to pride or we compare and think we lose which leads to all kinds of insignificant feelings.

We just need to look at scripture in what is written in Mark 9:38-41 and Luke 9:49-50. Let me sum up these verses for us. Jesus says that if they are not against us they are for us.

I love that. When that Sunday School class wins, than Jesus wins, if Jesus wins, then I win. It is a beautiful thing! Celebrate when ANYONE celebrates what Christ has done for us.

Don’t be the person that is complaining about how that person is winning souls when you are not winning any. You just lose!

Trying to convince my 15-year-old daughter to eat more fruits and vegetables by pointing to statistics about heart disease, cancer, and diabetes is like trying to convince her to think about retirement or funeral arrangements. Thanks Mom, talk to me…
